Winter Blizzard Jersey Style

Before the blizzard really hit, Max got out to enjoy the snow a bit.  Too bad we could only really stay outside for a few minutes since it was and is so so so cold.

Holly Jolly Card

Max recieved a singing card in the mail from his Nana. There is simply no rationalizing with an 18 month old so now all we can do is sing the first four words over and over and over again.

Stop It!

For those of you that have had any experience dealing with toddlers, you know that once you utter the phrase "Stop It!" the toddler immediately interprets that as "Keep doing what I'm doing but do it louder and harder."

Stir Crazy

With the recent weather we had here in Seatlle combined with time off for the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have been getting a little stir crazy.  We went from clear, sunny and very cold days to snow and ice - all within a week.  It has been very theraputic having to live with each other non-stop for almost a week.  We can honestly say we are thankful for wine, presto logs, dangerous things you find in junk drawers and above all else, each other.

Please excuse...

the fact our house is a mess, the fact both of us are in our pajamas and for the shaky cam (thanks Uncle Michael). For those that haven't seen our house, here is it in it's real, raw form.

Here you go Nana, for your viewing pleasure.

Chicken Soup For The Max

This is primarily a video for one.  A video for Ama.  I'm sure a few other people out there might enjoy it but for the most part, it is a bit boring but I know Ama will get a kick out of it since Max absolutely loved her soup and I loved seeing Max get his appetite back, finally after being sick for nearly 5 days.

Uncle Marc's Visit

Uncle Marc came for another visit to Seattle last weekend.  We had a great time.  We just hung out, relaxed, had dinner with The Neighbor's and met baby Capucine to end the visit.
Welcome to Seattle.
This was the only sun that shined while Marc was here unfortunately.
Here is Unlce Marc doing what Uncle's do best.
Dinner with Sanja and Connan.
We also were able to sneak a peak at our old place next door.
You wouldn't believe what the bamboo looks like.  Yikes.

Max meet Capucine, Capucine meet Max.

Max is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S

A little while ago Amber recorded Max's impressive feat of putting away 5 bananas in 5 hours. I'm happy (and a little scared) to say that his recent banana binge has not abaded his voracious appetite for the yellow fruit.

As proof, here's a little montage of Max enjoying his favorite food.

Ama Knows What I Like

Yesterday Max received a package in the mail from Ama.  It was a beautiful photo album commemorating his recent baptism.  As you can see, he thoroughly enjoyed the present.

Holy Roller

We had Max's baptism this Sunday at St. Nicholas church in Gig Harbor. It was a beautiful day and Max seemed to genuinely be enjoying himself. He sat through mass with hardly a peep and was a little angel throughout the whole ceremony. He is lucky little boy to have Jan and Paul as his Godparents.

Cannon Beach

We had a great time at Cannon Beach!  Here is a little video montage to show you just how much fun we all had.

July - so far...

We spent the 4th of July lighting off lots of fireworks, eating lots of food and best of all - spending lots of time with family and friends.

Richie, Ty and Joey getting started early with some sparklers

A special moment between Max and Ty

The fireworks were amazing.  A big thanks to Travis and Richie for making it a great show.  Max and Nina also had a special moment.  I love that Nina had her hand on Max as if she were to say, "Max, can I tell you something?"

And last but not least, here is Max enjoying a very warm July day at Greenlake perfecting his bear move.  Much like his father did when he was a little dude.

Pete & The Boys

We had a great birthday celebration for Max last weekend down at The Campbell's.  And best of all, Pete was able to come out and play with the boys.

Happy 1st Birthday Maxwell!

We thought it was only fitting that we do a little comparison with Max's 1 month photo and 1 year photo.  It truly is scary how fast a year goes by.

Ok, now onto the good stuff. We will warn you ahead of time that we took way too many photos of the baby eating his cake. There was a part of me that thought maybe...just maybe...he would be self conscience or maybe weirded out by all the people staring at him. But that was NOT the case. Enjoy!

And now the actual video of the aftermath

And the only thing Mom could think of doing was to put on a raincoat before the bath.

Max's newest trick

Max has learned a new trick, crawling!  But don't worry, he hasn't forgotten any of his old tricks, mainly grabbing everything he can and immediately shoving it in his mouth.

A Helping Hand

We spent a great, busy weekend in DC for Emily's wedding. It was a great time. Busy and exhausting but we are glad we got to be there for Aunti Em's special day. Max decided he wanted to lend us a hand at the airport on our way home.

If Cayman only knew

Max loves Cayman.  Strike that, Max loooooooooooves Cayman.
Cayman, on the other hand, will do ANYTHING not to be near Max.
Next time you see or talk to Richard, ask him how is wounds are doing from this picture?
Thank you again to Heather for capturing some great moments for us.  This one is one of my favorites.

11 months

We tried to get this one right, but we have an 11 month old and he doesn't like to stay put or cooperate as much anymore.  Not our best work, but hopefully you get the idea.

Surprise flowers at work for Mom

What a nice surprise to get Mother's Day flowers at work today.  Thank you Max!  I'm very impressed that Max has learned to order flowers but yet still doesn't crawl.  I guess that solidifies the fact that you technically don't have to be mobile to get anything done.

In case you can't read the card this is what it says:
Happy Mother's Day! You are the best Mommy ever! I am one lucky little bald baby boy.  I love you this much. (I'm holding my arms all the way out and grunting)
Love,
Max
Dad says he love you too.

Maxquake

We went to breakfast at The Original Pancake House and even though we ordered pancakes, we ended up getting maxquakes.
Remember that scene in Jurassic Park when the dinosaur is approaching and the glass of water is trembling?

Ok, here we go again. Today and tomorrow you can vote 10 times for Max. Do it! Now. Pretty please.

Max is 10 months

There has not been much new to report over the past month with two notable exceptions...

Max has started making the ugliest face possible...and Nana is in town for the next two weeks.

Now I'm not saying that one has anything to do with the other, I'm sure it is just a coincidence.

Poor Elmer

We picked up this cool stuffed elephant named Elmer at Top Ten Toys a few weeks back and thought that Max would really enjoy the colors and shapes on it but it turns out he's more fond of beating it up more than anything.  Guess that's a boy for ya.
Oh and you'll have to excuse the shaky camera work and annoying commentary by me since this was captured with my phone and I think I was on some serious cold medication at the time.

Happy Easter to all my peeps

We just got back from Gig Harbor after spending Max's first Easter with the family. Jan always goes above and beyond for the holidays and Max looks blissfully overwhelmed surrounded by all his Easter loot. Thanks to Greg and Suzanne for the chicken suit. At least half of Max's wardrobe come from them, including the jaunty little spring ensamble he wore today. (We are so glad you had boys!) And everytime they send a new shipment of clothes there is always at least one off-kilter article burried somewhere towards the bottom. This time it was a chicken suit. Sorry Jan that you didn't get to see Max in this getup live but there was an unfortunate egg dying incident at Rylee's house (Wendy and Wesley were there too) and the suit wasn't ready.

Close Encounters of the Max Kind

Max is trying to communicate with us. Thus far we have no idea what he is trying to say but it seems very important.

A big thanks to all of you that voted for Max last week!  He made it to round #2.  Now, it is time to get your pointer fingers ready again and vote 10 times each day starting today thru Friday for him.  He is now competing to be in the top 100.

Ok, yeah, yeah, yeah Max turned nine months, big deal.  Now onto the bigger, more important things - Baby Idol 2010.
Tomorrow is the last day to vote in round 1 for the cutest baby.
The five-hundred (500) babies that receive the most votes during the first voting period will qualify for the next round of selection which will begin next Monday, March 22nd, so be prepared to see many more posts about this.
Just in case you haven't book marked this already, here is the link again: http://babyidol.movin925.com/node/3022

Max is 9 months old

About a month ago Max started daycare...and the three of us have been sick with one illness or another ever since. But I'm happy to report that after many sleepless nights and a lot of cherry flavored infant Tylenol Max is finally starting to get back to his old self. And none too soon because it has been a rough month for all of us!

Baby Idol is here!

We entered Max into a cutest baby photo contest for a local radio station.  We would love it if everyone voted for him.  Here is the link
http://babyidol.movin925.com/node/3022
The only tricky things is that the radio requires you to sign up first before you can vote.  It is a bit step heavy but worth it since we want to win this thing.
Here is the photo we entered.  I think you can vote up to 10 times a day and there are like a gazillion rounds.  So we shall see.  Thanks in advance for everyone's vote.

Flower Child

We had a great weekend here in Seattle. The sun was out, the weather was pleasant, and the backyard Clematis is in full bloom, a harbinger of the warm days ahead. Even Max is getting back to his old self.

Not exactly a smile

As of late, whenever we have tried taking pictures of Max, he always seems to gives us this really wonky smile. I was going through our photos the other day and didn't realize just how many shots we actually have of this smile, if that's what you want to call it.

What a week!

This week was the first week that Max went to daycare. I think it was 10 times harder on us, the parents, then on Max. In fact, I know that was the case. Here are a few pictures to document our past week.
Here is Amber and Max enjoying the sunshine last weekend.  Max actually kept his hat and sunglasses on for the entire outing.

After our nice walk, Max reviewed all the paperwork for daycare and deemed it unexceptable that he have to go.  We gently broke the news to him again, that this was for the best and that he would really love it, we promised.

Then to Max's surprise, he was welcomed home after his first day of daycare with a cookie bouquet from Ama & Ampa.  I think that is when he realized this whole daycare thing wasn't so bad, as long as he got presents when he got home.  He was mesmerized by the bald baby cookie.  He ate that one first.  Then he promptly proceeded to pass out on the couch.

Phew, what a week it was.  But all in all, we did well, I mean Max did well.
Let's just hope he doesn't expect cookies everyweek from here on out for going to school.
